About me

I was born in Bronte, a town near Catania (Italy), in 1989, graduated Magna Cum Laude in Technologies for Conservation of Cultural Heritage (BSc) and in Chemistry of Materials (MSc) at the University of Catania. From 2014 to 2017, I was a PhD student in Chemical Sciences at the University of Catania and, at the same time, I was Visiting PhD student at Aix-Marseille University and CNRS (France), CNR (Italy), Peking University (China) and University of South Florida (US).
In december 2017, I was awarded “cum laude” of International PhD in Chemical Sciences at University of Catania.

Since 2018 I have been a post-doctoral fellow at the University of South Florida and post-doctoral researcher at Peking University, Aix-Marseille University, and Fudan University.

From 2013 to 2017, I was National Secretary of the Italian Association of Conservation Scientists (IA-CS).

In the last years, I have been invited speaker in many universities in Italy, China, Australia, Egypt, US, involved in many organizing and scientific committee of international meetings and co-supervisor of more than twenty BSc and MSc thesis at University of Catania, University of Palermo, Sapienza University of Rome (Italy) and Helwan University (Egypt).
